Florence Louise Harrison was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating from Rogers Hall School, Lowell, Massachusetts, and in 1906, Smith College; she also took graduate courses in economics at Yale. She taught at several secondary schools and was for many years a political science professor at Connecticut College for Women.
